For many years latex tubes were only found in tubular tires. These latex tubes are responsible for very high puncture safety and ride quality. SILCA has now teamed up with Vittoria to develop the highest quality latex tubing with the lowest rolling resistance for common clincher tires.
Why Latex? Compared to the "normal" tubes, which are made of butyl rubber, latex is much more elastic and much harder to puncture.
With latex hoses, you can usually go 2-5 watts faster at a speed of 48 km/h than with hoses made of other materials. Latex tubes offer extremely high elasticity, which contributes to low rolling resistance of the tyre.
The tubes fit in standard 23-28 mm diameter tires. The valve length is 40 mm and fits all standard disc wheels + 40 mm or 72 mm valve extension and Speed Shield.
